Tank & Mixer Packages
Pre-Engineered - Ready to Use

Tank and mixer packages are designed, engineered and built to provide long, trouble free service in blending and mixing applications. Our pre-engineered packages are used to blend liquids, suspend or dissolve solids, and dispense immiscible liquids in a wide variety of industrial applications. Blend and mix paints, varnishes, polymers, textile sizes and dyes, pharmaceuticals and countless other materials from 1 to 2,000 CPS viscosity.

We offer Neptune Mixers in our pre-engineered packages

Our tank and mixer packages consist of a heavy-duty molded polyethylene tank (capacity and tank style determined by your application) a steel stand with a mixer support bar or a floor mounted bar and the appropriate NEPTUNE MIXER. See chart for mixer selection.

MIXER SELECTION CHART

Our chart is intended to furnish basic guidelines for selecting the proper mixer to provide a mild blending of liquids of various viscosities in different size tanks. This information is based on an approximate 30 minute mix-blend time for two liquids when both liquids are already in the tank. Mixing times can be shortened if one liquid is added while the first liquid is already being mixed. Powders should always be added while mixer is running.

Optimum mixing will be achieved when the mixer is angled from the tank wall. "Angling-Off" center is preferred when good material turnover is required, as in mixing a slurry. "Angling-On" center is desirable for a gentle mixing action or when vortexing must be minimized. Improper mounting of a mixer can greatly lessen mixing efficiency, cause vibration, and possibly damage the mixer. See bottom of page for illustrations.

Angling the portable mixer off center is the position recommended
for rapid turnover of tank contents and good bottom washing.

On center angling will produce good mixing with minimum vortexing.
Tank contents turn over thoroughly but gently.
