Acid Neutralization Tanks

These tanks have years of proven suitability in handling tough effluents. Our line of polyethylene and polypropylene neutralization tanks are designed to withstand the heat of neutralization and the corrosive attack of acids, alkalies, toxics or other types of chemical wastes.

FUNCTION - Our neutralization tanks are designed to facilitate the dilution and neutralization of harmful wastes that may be discharged from laboratories, industrial processes or other polluting sources. These tanks are also useful in diluting polluted effluent destined for chemical treatment plants or municipal water treatment facilities by reducing the burden placed on these plants.

CONSTRUCTION - Our neutralization tanks are cylindrical and have bolted down and gasketed covers. All hardware for bolting are stainless steel, gaskets are neoprene. Tanks include inlets, outlets and vents as specified.

OPERATION - The neutralization medium can be lump limestone or marble chips, 1"-3" diameter, with a high calcium carbonate equivalent content in excess of 85%. Water added to tank helps facilitate dilution. In operation, the acids percolate up through the limestone and are chemically neutralized into salts, water and carbon dioxide. CAUTION: There are many variables affecting neutralization and dilution of chemicals discharged through a system. Professional assistance should be employed in analyzing the effluent, recommending appropriate equipment and necessary maintenance services.

KA and KB Series

  • Continuous operating temperatures 140°F PE; 212°F PP.
  • S.S. hardware and neoprene fume gasket.
  • Rugged, heavy wall construction.
  • KB Series are not recommended for high impact or low temperature applications.
